Bio

I’m the author of three novels (Counting Chickens, Goats in the Time of Love, and my forthcoming work Sheepish), a recovering lawyer, and an avid reader. I have a husband, three children, and two rambunctious dogs—but no sheep, goats or chickens!

When I don’t have my laptop open or my nose in a book, you can find me walking the beaches and trails of the Vineyard with my dogs and taking photos to post on Instagram (@tb.dc.mv) and Facebook (@telizabethbell).

I also love farmers’ markets and cooking—you’ll find some of my favorite recipes in the back of my novels.

I’ve always tried—sometimes successfully, sometimes not—to balance my life with activities that feed my creative side. After trying landscape painting (not bad, but no comparison to my mom and sister), pottery, tile-making and silversmithing, I’ve settled on writing. Because I love it—and I love being able to share through words the most beautiful place in the world, Martha’s Vineyard.
