Bio

I’m a part-time lawyer, the author of two novels, Counting Chickens and Goats in the Time of Love, and an avid reader. I have a husband, three children, and a very old dog—but no chickens (or goats!), Thanks to
telecommuting, I am lucky enough to split my time between Martha’s Vineyard and Washington, D.C.

When I don’t have my laptop open or my nose in a book, you can find me walking the beaches and trails of the Vineyard or along the C&O canal with my dog and taking pictures to post on Instagram (@tb.dc.mv) and
Facebook (@telizabethbell). I also love farmers’ markets and cooking – you’ll find some of my favorite recipes in the back of my novels!

I’ve always tried — sometimes successfully, sometimes not — to balance my work life with activities that feed my creative side. After trying landscape painting (not bad, but no comparison to my mom and sister), pottery, tile-making and silversmithing, I’ve settled on writing. Because I love it — and I love being able to share through words the most beautiful place in the world, Martha’s Vineyard.
